This guide will get you started raising money for your organization. You'll see it's both powerful and easy to use once you get the hang of it.
You can also watch a quick video about how to customize your webstack.
1) Signup and creating your first initiative
Signing up for winwin apps and creating your first initiative is just three easy steps and takes less than ten minutes.
1. Visit http://www.winwinapps.com/signup/ and enter your company name and account login information
2. Enter your initiative name and custom URL. You can optinally give your initiative a tagline and upload a logo to represent your event, campaign, or auction.
3. Select a theme from our ever-growing library of designs as a starting point, then optionally select your own colors or upload a background image to give your initiative webstack a unique look.
Once you've completed these three easy steps you're on your way to harnessing all the tools winwin has to offer.
2) Adding and changing content via the webstack tab
Once you've saved your initiative design you'll land in the webstack tab. You'll notice that your webstack is a six hundred pixels wide web page with a basic menu on the left side encouraging users to donate to your initiative.
Your webstack is how you will collect your donations, sell tickets online, and send great looking email campaigns too.
To add a content block to your webstack, use the content blocks menu to your right. The block you choose will be inserted at the bottom of your webstack, or below the block you have currently selected for editing.
To change content on your webstack blocks you simply have to click on the photo or text content you wish to edit. This will open an editor with rich text options making it one of the most flexible and easy to use content management systems. To save your changes simply click
the dark circle containing a checkmark to the left of the content; or to remove the block from your webstack click on the circle which contains the "x" just below it.
To change the order in which the blocks appear in your webstacks you can simply drag and drop them above or below one another to achieve the desired order. This works for both your online webstack and email campaigns.
3) Enabling the ticketing and auction features on your webstack
Before your webstack will display the "Buy Tickets" and "The Auction" links in the left menu, you have to configure those two options in their respective tabs first.
To enable tickets you need to create some ticket inventory which your attendees can purchase both online or at the door. This feature is accessed via Tickets > Ticket Inventoy > +Ticket for the event. Here you have the option to specify price, quantity available, sales tax, how many tickets can be purchased at one time, and how you would like to handle the winwin apps fee of $1 per ticket. You can also create a receipt message so when users purchase online they can be given instructions such as where to park, what to bring, when to show up, or any other information they will want while attending your event. For more information about event check in, ticket printing and advice on hosting a sucessful event see our Running a Ticketed Event help section.
To enable an auction for your initiative you simply have to add the auction items via the Auction tab.
Auction items must be grouped into categories even if you only have one category. We do this because it's much easier to browse auctions with a lot of items. In the auction item form, you'll see many options in addition to simple descriptions and an image. The most important of these options is the ability to optionally set bidding to occur online and continue at the event (live or silent). For more information about running a successful auction see our Managing an Auction support page
4) Understanding clipboard and financial data
The clipboard is an overview of your webstack activity. In addition to visits to your webstack, you'll start to see the revenue your webstack generates as graph options as well overview totals in the grey box below the graphs to the left.
winwin apps also includes a simple Income and expense reporting tool that allows you to add revenue sources and expense items to your initiatives. This provides a quick and easy way to calculate your bottom line using the built-in revenue tracking as a starting point. Because winwin doesn't report items like donations by cash or check (just yet), we wanted a place you could do it manually. We aren't trying to replace your accounting software, but we've found this very useful working on-site toward reconciliation immediately after an event.
The clipboard also features a link to your winwin Statement for the initiative. In this statement we track your payable revenue as well as a detailed list of the winwin transaction and ticketing fees on a per-item basis. This statement serves as an ongoing invoice you can print when we settle your initiative balance.
5) Using the clipboard promotion tools to get the word out
winwin can hook into your Twitter and Facebook account enabling you to post messages to your following. You'll also find embed-able buttons that match your webstack theme which you can place on your website or any other web page where you can edit the HTML code.
Linking to your Twitter account is as easy as logging and clicking the Connect to Twitter button which will prompt you to allow access to the winwin Twitter application. Once your Twitter account is linked to your initiative you'll have the ability to post tweets at regularly scheduled intervals, scheduled them in the future or post them immediately. You also can include a link to any of your webstack pages within the tweets.
Connecting to your Facebook account works much like Twitter except you're posting your customizable messages to your Facebook news feed for all your friends to see.
For those who have some HTML knowledge, the buttons are easy to place by copying the HTML code snippet provided by the buttons section. You can link to your ticket form, auction, donation form, or any custom signup and survey forms you create within your initiative.
